From the team behind hipster hangout Arcadia Liquors comes Gunthers Dining Room, set in the all-day and all-night European bistro, Redfern Continental. Enter through the timber door at the back of the restaurant to discover the vintage hideaway, where a disco ball whirls in the middle of the room, the booths are covered in green velour and nostalgic cocktails are the order of the day. Settle in and order a selection of retro share plates.
Gunther's Dining Room is open Tuesday-Saturday 5:30pm-late. With a great selection of wines and unique tap beers, GDR boasts an impressive range of spirits that combine to form a cocktail list worthy of considerable exploration. Food is always served, ranging from meat and cheese plates, with steak frites, curywurst and traditional German hotdogs fast becoming the specialty of the house.
GDR prides itself on a unique aesthetic that sits somewhere between Eastern European political chambers, a 1960s South Coast RSL and a long lost Ocean Liner.
