Introduction
Spindrift Guest House is a family run semi detached house. We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our 7 bedroom Guest House. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre. Arrival
The train station is 5 minutes away by car. There is a bus stop behind the property approximately 5 minutes walk. There are local taxi services that have accessible taxis if required. We can make a booking for you. Coaches stop at Market Gate which is a 10 minute walk away. On request we can organize hiring of wheelchairs mobility equipment or pushchairs.
Any correspondence can be provided in large print by prior arrangement.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is no designated parking, but there is free parking on both sides of the road outside the Guest House. A few disable bays are marked out in the road.The front surface is concrete with good street lighting. There is a level walk way up to the front door. We can assist guests with luggage if needed.
Main Entrance and Reception
At the entrance the front door has two steps the 1st 20cm high and the 2nd 14cm high. The front door is always locked but we do have a bell to the right of the door at 158cm high if required. The door is 94cm wide, on entry to the house you have a small lobby which is 117cm x 181cm wide, is carpeted and through a second door which is 81cm wide.The hallway which is 183cm x 553cm wide is also fully carpeted.
Public Areas- General ( internal )
On the ground floor, the door to the left is the breakfast room the door to the right is for our private accommodation. Both doors are fire doors.
There are 15 steps each 31 x 17 cm to the first floor where a long hallway takes you to room 1, at the top of the steps and up a further two steps 31 x 17 cm you will find bedrooms 2 to 5. Then up another 15 steps which are also 31 x 17 cm you will find bedrooms 6 and 7.
On the first landing you will find an iron and ironing board. Carpets are fitted throughout. There is a handrail on both sides of the first 15 steps and on one side on the second set. We have good lighting in all the hallways and public areas. We are also fitted with an up to date fire alarm. All signage is clear and up to date.
Dining Room
Breakfast is served in the dining room on the ground floor. There are no steps. Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request each table is 78 cm high. 117 cm long and 75 cm wide. All chairs are upright and without arms with cloth seats. There is a ceiling fan and good lighting and once again carpeted through-out.
Bedrooms
All rooms are en-suite, each room has ample lighting and plug sockets and is fully central heated. These rooms are fitted with carpet through-out. Bedrooms are fitted with fire doors, beacons and sounders in case of a fire.
Fire rules are also printed and displayed on the inside of each bedroom door.
Additional information
We are a nonsmoking establishment.
Mobile phone reception is generally good
We are able to use the front or back doors in the need of evacuation, the fire alarm rings continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require more assistance for evacuation, please notify us on arrival.
We supply a small drinks fridge in all the bedrooms, which can be used for medication/ food and drinks. There is a service bell in the hallway down stairs for emergency assistance or information.
