ACCOMMODATION
WOOLRICH COTTAGE
Built in the 1920's this recently restored two bedroom house was home to members of the Woolrich family who started the nursery in The Dandenongs that operated on this site until the 1960's.
The cottage was built in the 1920s for Ted Woolrich who started the former nursery from which these woodlands have grown. The cottage’s Art Deco features have been retained and restored during a major renovation to create this elegant accommodation. Fine furniture complements the period architectural features such as the Art Deco leadlight windows. The cottage ambience is altogether alluring.
The cottage layout includes two bedrooms, walk through robes and large ensuites, so two couples can enjoy equal luxury. A special feature is an indoor, four person Jacuzzi hot tub under a glass skylight.
The lounge room has an open fire, and a bay window on the east accommodates the dining table, bathed in morning sun. The front verandah rounds the corner to a large deck overlooking the gardens to mountain views. The kitchen has also benefitted from the renovation sporting granite bench tops and a fashionable farmhouse sink. French doors open up onto a deck which is equipped with a barbeque and outdoor furniture for alfresco dining.
GARDEN RETREAT
Imagine yourself sitting in the candlelight in front of an open wood fire; or in summer on the balcony sipping chilled wine in the silent world of nature. Bordering on Cloudehill Gardens, the self-contained Garden Retreat with its own private entrance, is part of the main house overlooking the Woolrich Woodlands.
In French Provence style, the Garden Retreat is perfect for one couple with its king-size bed and double spa (separate shower). Miele appliances in the kitchen, leadlight windows, in the bathroom and bedroom, TV with Foxtel and DVD and a lovely open wood fire in the cosy lounge room makes this an experience to remember.
Outside, the balcony, complete with BBQ, and art deco table and chairs sits at the edge of a canopy of trees. Walk down the steps next to your retreat and open our private gate to the stunning Cloudehill Gardens or go the other way into the Woolrich Woodlands with its meandering paths, lyrebirds, azalea maze and the dell.
