Lavenham is an historic mediaeval village boasting over 340 listed buildings. Lavenham has a long and colourful history, featuring at different times: Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford - one of those proposed as the "real" Shakespeare; Louis Napoleon in the 19th Century and the 487th Bomb group (H) of the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1945.
It has a variety of shops, including a pharmacy, butcher (renown for local sausages and game). A hairdresser, two beauty shops, Co-op, general store and Faiers family run bakers. There is a shoe shop, Tapestry Gallery, several clothes shops, specialist tea supplier and of course teashops.
Eating is well catered for, with everything from teashops, to a popular Indian restaurant, pubs and restaurants including the award winning Great House French restaurant.
Free parking is available either on the street directly outside the property, or there is a large free car park just 200 yards away.
There are easy road links to Bury St Edmund (13 Miles), Newmarket (28 Miles), Cambridge (39 Miles) and Colchester (18Miles). Stanstead airport is less than 38 miles away.

Staff was friendly and extremely helpful and all the needs were looked after. The showers are perfect for anyone who has trouble with small showers. Separate shower unit. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The room was well appointed and clean. Cleanliness was first class, extra pillows and towels.
