With queues trailing onto Erskineville Road at the original Cafe Shenkin, The Haikin brothers and their dad have now opened an Espresso Bar in Newtown. Occupying what was previously The Old Fish Shop Cafe, the timber laden space is offering a blend of Polish and Israeli sweets like boureka, chocolate pyramids and rugela, as well as espresso coffee by Mecca. A warm nourishing meal, a rich cup of coffee and space to enjoy the company of friends and family. Traditions passed down from our Israeli & European heritage, made fresh daily in store.
In the heart of King St Newtown, is our smallest Shenkin offering takeaway coffee and drinks along with the largest selection of sweet and savoury burekasim (pastries). Shenkin Espresso Bar opened in 2012, and was the first venture into opening multiple locations and trialling different concepts to suit the local needs.
