So 9 So 9, CASBA, 1/18 Dank Street, Waterloo NSW 2017, Australia

Amongst the big brand outlets on Danks Street at Waterloo is a Vietnamese street food restaurant called So 9. The eatery takes its name from the traditional Vietnamese lucky number and visitors will feel lucky to experience such an elegant dining room in the midst of an industrial area. The menu offers the likes of pho, banh xeo pancakes and rice paper rolls along with banh mi, which are available for take away.

So 9 in Vietnamese, translates to ‘Number 9’, a lucky number in Vietnamese culture. Luck has always been an important presence in our journey as boat people from Vietnam to where we are now.
For us, it brings together everything that’s good about our street food inspired menu.
We have purposely set out to create a beautiful space where you can see and smell the food that we are so fond of, and experience the theatre of preparing and cooking our traditional dishes right before your eyes. From soupy Pho noodles, to crispy Banh Xeo pancakes and rice paper rolls, much like the street stalls, each will feature at their own food stand.
We invite you to explore, before deciding on what you’ll eat and settling down to enjoy the authentic Vietnamese street food flavours we love and cherish.
