A crumbling corner store on the border of the Redfern-Surry divide has been turned into a shmick cafe, designed by Surry Hills architect, Arthur Koutoulas. Every inch of the space has been carefully considered, adorned with items evoking family history and long-distance travel. The duo behind the venture Kate Thomas and Grant Piper, who met working at DOV, know their coffee and take it seriously. The organic Fairtrade blend from Bowral's Rush roasting co. is nutty and satisfying, and it's a perfect way to start the morning. The foods above par too.
