Lough Eske Castle, a five-star castle hotel located on a secluded lakeside estate just outside Donegal Town, has a rich history dating back to the 1400s. Associated with the O'Donnell Clan, the founding fathers of Donegal, the property is based in the northwest region of Ireland.
Tucked within the woodlands of Northwest Ireland, this lovingly restored castle-hotel blends its historic past with a dash of contemporary elegance. As the only five-star hotel in Donegal, Lough Eske Castle, a luxury Castle Hotel & Spa, offers exceptional accommodations set in a meticulously restored 17th century castle. Featuring just 96 guest rooms, two bars and a restaurant, conference and banqueting suites, and a luxuriant spa, this secluded hideaway beckons you to a rural retreat of exquisite style.
The allure of Lough Eske Castle lies in its contradictions. Despite its glass and stone façade, the hotel maintains a blend of casual, country-style comfort and modern luxury. Simply put, this award-winning castle-hotel offers a fresh perspective on castle living.
Our castle accommodation offerings in Ireland range from the contemporary style of our Garden Suites to the country charm of our Courtyard rooms - that were converted from stables - to the more traditional elegance of our Presidential Castle Suites - with private access to the castle tower.

Read All ReviewsI have booked a disabled room and it was very comfortable room. Moving around in the room was hassle free, just 1 issue was the room entrance door was little bit narrow so need to take care while entering the room. There were ample disabled parking spaces away from here but not as far as the main parking areas. The access from the disabled parking space was suitable for wheelchair. The many local Donegal staff give this hotel a true Irish experience which combined with excellent service makes for a very relaxing and high quality experience
