YHA Blaxhall makes a great base for exploring everything that the Suffolk coast has to offer. Comfortable and inviting, this former school is at the heart of the village, on the edge of Blaxhall Heath surrounded by wildlife and beautiful countryside. Curl up with a book in our cosy lounge, or relax on our garden picnic benches and enjoy being surrounded by flowers! The hostel sits on the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, one of the most important areas for wildlife in the whole of Britain.

The Hostel

The site of a community recycling scheme, powered in part by solar energy and boasting a garden that encourages biodiversity, Blaxhall has some cracking credentials.

With 41 beds in a variety of room sizes, there is something for everyone at YHA Blaxhall. YHA Blaxhall has 41 beds arranged in 1 x 3 (double bed), 2 x 4 (bunk beds) and 5 x 6 bedded rooms (bunk beds). One of our 6 bed rooms has an en-suite, and there are showers and toilets available for everyone to use along the main corridor. We also have a disabled access washroom available.

The nearest shop is two miles away.

Camping

Located in the front garden of the Youth Hostel, our small (but perfectly formed!) camping area is great for quiet weekends in the great outdoors.

Facilities
The hostel facilities are right on the doorstep and with your keycode (provided on arrival), you will have access to them 24 hours a day.

Important Information Campfires are strictly prohibited.

Hire the Whole Place

This hostel is occasionally made available for hire on an exclusive basis. This means that you can have the place to yourself and choose how many of your friends, family, club mates, etc., join you. We allocate availability for exclusive use in blocks, typically up to 90 days in the future. If you are looking for space to stay with us on a normal shared basis, and can’t see any availability three months or more into the future, then this hostel may be being held for Exclusive Hire.

At YHA Blaxhall we strive to cater for everybody. We have one accessible bedroom on the ground floor. There is an accessible bathroom also on the ground floor.
