The historic Gananoque Inn & Spa is nestled on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in the small, picturesque town of Gananoque, Ontario, “deep in the heart of the world famous 1000 Islands.” Discerning travelers have found an idyllic setting and warm hospitality at the Gananoque Inn & Spa since 1896. The Inn is just a 20 minute drive from Fort Henry and the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. Read our history to learn more about the Inn. We are Gananoque’s only waterfront accommodations.
The traditionally furnished rooms and suites feature free Wi-Fi, cable TV, DVD players and coffeemakers. Some offer fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, river views and/or balconies.
There's a waterfront restaurant and a bar/grill with patio seating, plus a full-service spa. Parking is free, and there's a private dock.
The Main Inn
The main building of the Inn dates back to the 1860s when it housed the Gananoque Carriage Works. Surrounded by flowers in summer, the Main Inn has 29 unique rooms, some with river views and others with balconies from which to enjoy the sunset. Accommodations include some double rooms, Fireplace Room and the beautiful Honeymoon Suite. The Watermark Restaurant and Muskie Jake’s Tap and Grill are conveniently located on the ground floor.
Waterfront
Two ground level units house 14 lovely rooms that open directly out onto the lush lawns, gardens and 500-feet of private dock. White Adirondack chairs invite guests to sit and enjoy the panoramic view or watch the lively activities at the nearby town dock. Spacious rooms have two queen beds or a king bed. Some provide the luxury of a fireplace or Jacuzzi.
The Annex
Many of the 10 annex rooms have a riverview balcony that overlooks the tranquil Pond Garden with its profusion of flowers and darting goldfish. Two luxurious suites, including the sumptuous Prime Minister’s Suite, await guests who wish to be pampered with a Jacuzzi and fireplace.
Caverly House- 1 Bedroom Winter Suite
Built in the 1890s, this charming little house contain a fireplace and Jacuzzi suite, sitting area with pullout couch, dining area, full fridge and microwave. rented in the winter as a 1 bedroom suite utilyzing the complete lower level of our house, it is named after its long time owners. The Caverly house is located at the edge of the inn property and is part of the charming small town streets-cape.
