Vegetarian food, boutique beers and a "loungey" atmosphere – these are the reasons why Surry Hills' restaurant newbie, Yulli's, has mouths watering and tongues wagging. Sporting understatedly cool decor, Yulli's is proof that the liquor licensing laws are changing Sydney's style. Yulli's joins the veteran Lounge Cafe and Sticky Bar as "places on Crown Street to drink on a retro couch set". The decor is understatedly cool: low lights, red tones, wine crate furniture and – wait for it – AstroTurf. Sit street-side to eye the passing pedestrian traffic through the bay windows or, if you're after a more intimate setting, there's a hidden room out the back that's got to have the oddest decor in Surry Hills (in a good way). It's the bar with the pink sign on Crown st featuring amazing cocktails, local wine and and a Massive local craft beer list! Food is vegetarian (vegan and gluten free options available) with the produced sourced locally.
