Right opposite the MCG, on the ground level of one of Melbourne's most exclusive apartment blocks is East Melbourne's GG Restaurant and Bar. This 150-seater combines a wine bar and restaurant, including a rotisserie and wood-fired oven. There's also an adjoining bottle shop, where guests can purchase and drink in the restaurant for a $15 mark up. The name is a nod to one G (the MCG opposite) and also co-owner Rocky Veneziano's grandfather Giuseppe.
Conveniently located in East Melbourne, GG Restaurant offers sweeping views of the city and Fitzroy Gardens. With an extensive European menu and a wine list thoughtfully created to enhance the offering, GG is a perfect spot for a business lunch, dinner celebration, or can be privately booked for up to 200 guests for events.
Seasonal menus are designed by our kitchen team, which is led by Paul Dunlop. Hand-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, and meats slow-roasted over coal and wood from our rotisserie are available to share. Vegetarians are also well catered for with many meat-free dishes.
A comprehensive wine list offers a vast selection of both local and international wines as well as European style aperitifs and craft beers. A bespoke cocktail list includes both classic and modern cocktails with a GG Restaurant twist.

GG’s Modern European menu has been curated by euro-lovers Paul Dunlop, Luca Montebelli and Rocky Veneziano who have traveled far and wide, tasting and critiquing international cuisine (a lot of Italian it would seem), and putting their favourite combinations together to create a crowd pleasing menu.
GG restaurant is divided into five dining areas including the large private Clarendon Room, the semi private Pantry area, the main dining room, bar and the wine store. Relax at the bar with a cocktail before heading into the spacious dining area with its bold wooden aesthetic, or wander through the wine store and settle in for a wine tasting with Luca. Everything on the wine list and in the store is available to take-away.
